Alan M. Miller, MD, PhD
Chief Medical Director, Oncology Service Line at SCL Health System
Alan M. Miller, MD, PhD, is Chief Medical Director for the oncology service line at SCL Health System in Broomfield, Colorado. In addition to leading the oncology program for SCL Health’s twelve hospital system, he is responsible for the development of a comprehensive system-wide research program.
Previously, Alan was Director of the Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center and Chief of Oncology at Baylor University Medical Center where he had responsibility for the oversight and growth of all aspects of cancer clinical care, research and education at Baylor in addition to his role as a practicing Medical Oncologist.
Prior to his role at Baylor, Alan held multiple positions at Tulane University including founding director of the Bone Marrow Transplant Program, Deputy Director of the Tulane Cancer Center, and Associate Senior Vice President for Health Sciences. He has also held faculty positions at the University of Miami and the University of Florida. He currently sits on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Hematotherapy and Stem Cell Research and is a member of the International Society for Experimental Hematology, the American Society of Hematology, and the American Society for Clinical Oncology.
Alan received his Medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine, his PhD and Master’s Degree in Physiology and his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the State University of New York in Buffalo. He has received nearly $20 million in research grants and contracts and been published extensively in the leading domestic and international trade journals and publications. Alan has received numerous awards and honors from the National Institutes of Health, American Cancer Society, Brown Foundation and others.
